RHS Hilltop was a new state of the art research facility that opened to the public in Wisely Garden in 2020. My brief was to make a welcome video that would inform the general public about the buildings multifunctional purpose and facilities. Surrounded by three themed gardens: the well-being garden, wildlife garden, and food garden, the building itself contains laboratory facilities, the Horticulture Library, Arboretum and Insect Records, as well as education spaces, conference hall and cafe. This is the first research facility of its kind, making it groundbreaking in the world of horticulture science.

The main challenge for this film was capturing the depth of work being done in the building as well as communicating the wealth of features offered, while also remaining engaging and exciting. This was done by injecting pace into the edit with quick montage sequences, and used rich imagery to create a light and playful energy. The film now lives on repeat in the atrium of Hilltop so that the visiting public can be informed and inspired about the work going on around them.
